"The name implies a traumatic childbirth, but Alex Nagle's solo guitar/laptop project is something grafted together in some secret laboratory, not born wholly human. The moniker is actually a take-off on CSound, the programming language that Nagle uses to process his six-string (ed. - seven string!?!?) violence into something even harsher. The result is like some H.R. Giger biomechanical mash-up of Conlon Nancarrow and Mick Barr — only where Nancarrow used player piano to play parts impossible for human hands, Nagle executes the stuntwork himself, using the machinery to lay barbed wire along the paths he shreds. His new disc is a single extended piece combining improv and composed sections, unrelenting but not unvarying, expansive and intricate." -Shaun Brady

"EMBARKER" is the project of Michael Roy Barker. EMBARKER uses homemade electronics, a circuit bent drum machine, modified effects pedals, and voice to create hyperkinetic ADHD infused music. MB plays or has played in Sharks With Wings, The George Steeltoe Ensemble, PIMA group, and Wet Cement. Michael has performed at the High Zero Festival in 2002, the 2008 Bent Festival in Los Angeles. He has also studied at STEIM (NL) 2007 and been artist in Residence at the Experimental TV Center in Owego NY 2005 / 06. He also has a profound obsession with found media where he has released a CDr of found answering machine tapes on Heresee Records and self released DVDr compilation of found video.
